Unlike many leading energy technologies, URIPP’s hydrogen gas generator does not use fossil fuels to produce energy. As a result, URIPP’s technology neither depends on limited resources nor creates hazardous byproducts, namely greenhouse gases. Instead, URIPP’s generator employs salt water to create hydrogen gas, with tests indicating that even polluted water is viable for the basis of electrolysis. In the place of carbon emissions and nitrous gas, URIPP’s hydrogen generator produces the same byproducts naturally found in ocean water: iron hydroxide and caustic soda. To ensure safety and demonstrate validity, URIPP had these byproducts independently tested by Chemical Solutions LTD for content and purity. The other primary byproduct of URIPP’s hydrogen gas generator is water vapor, which causes lower exhaust gas temperatures (EGT), allowing for optimal, continuous functionality at temperatures that are safe to touch. Due to this moderation of temperature, URIPP’s generator benefits from a longer life than that of existing hydrogen generation technologies, whose high temperatures cause the degradation of membranes and other internal components at an accelerated rate. Beyond improving the generator’s daily functionality and overall life, the water vapor represents a significant benefit because it is both clean and potable. Therefore, URIPP’s generator not only provides emission-free energy, but also produces safe drinking water. According to the UN, 750 million people lack access to clean drinking water and 1.3 billion people lack access to modern electricity. Thus, the social and environmental implications of this invention are enormous, particularly with regard to developing countries.
